Overview
In TechoERP, an Item represents any physical good, raw material, manufactured assembly, or intangible service bought, sold, or stocked by your company. Every sales order, purchase order, delivery note, invoice, and bill of materials links directly to the Item master.
Key Item Master Attributes

| Inventory Settings | Maintain Stock, Default Unit of Measure (UOM), Valuation Method | Determines whether stock ledger entries are generated upon movement. Supports FIFO and Moving Average valuation. |
| Pricing & Costing | Standard Selling Rate, Valuation Rate | Default pricing used when populating quotations, sales invoices, or calculating gross margins. |
| Barcode & Serial | Has Serial No, Has Batch No, Barcodes | Enables unit-level traceability or batch expiration tracking for pharmaceuticals, food, and electronics. |
How to Create an Item in TechoERP
- Navigate to Stock > Items & Pricing > Item > New.
- Enter the unique Item Code (e.g.
ITM-DESK-001) and Item Name. - Select the appropriate Item Group (e.g. Products, Raw Materials, Services).
- Check Maintain Stock if this is a physical item, or uncheck if it is a billing service/labor fee.
- Select the Default UOM (e.g. Nos, Kg, Meter, Hour).
- Click Save to commit the Item into the database.
Tip: Auto-creation from Barcodes
In TechoERP, you can scan EAN-13, UPC, or QR codes directly using the built-in camera barcode scanner to auto-populate item fields.
