Overview
A Sales Order in TechoERP represents a legally binding confirmation from a Customer to buy items or services at agreed prices and delivery dates. It forms the backbone of the Order-to-Cash (O2C) cycle, automatically driving warehouse pick lists, delivery notes, and sales invoices.
Order-to-Cash Workflow
| Step | Document | Description |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Quotation | Initial proposal submitted to prospective client or existing customer. |
| 2 | Sales Order | Customer confirmation locking quantities, prices, discounts, and promised delivery dates. |
| 3 | Delivery Note | Physical shipment confirmation reducing inventory from warehouse stock. |
| 4 | Sales Invoice | Commercial billing document posting debits to Accounts Receivable and credits to Income. |
Creating a Sales Order
- Go to Selling > Sales > Sales Order > New (or convert directly from an accepted Quotation).
- Select the Customer and verify billing/shipping addresses.
- Add line items specifying Item Code, Quantity, Rate, and Delivery Date.
- Configure Sales Taxes and Charges and Payment Terms.
- Click Save and then Submit.
Automated Stock Reservation
In TechoERP, submitting a Sales Order reserves warehouse stock automatically to prevent overselling while goods are being prepped for dispatch.
